Blood Relation — Family Tree Method
✨ IN SHORT — THE WHOLE LESSON IN 20 SECONDS
Never solve blood relations in your head. Draw a tiny family tree: □ for male, ○ for female, = for married, lines down for children. The answer draws itself.
1. Symbols & Generations
Father/Mother = one level up. Son/Daughter = one level down. Brother/Sister = same level. Uncle/Aunt = parent's sibling level. Always break long sentences into small pairs.
📌 'A is B's father's son' → B's father, then his son = B's brother (or B himself — check options!).
2. Key Relations Table
Father's father = Grandfather (Paternal). Mother's mother = Maternal Grandmother (Dida/Didima in Bengali). Father's brother = Uncle (Kaka/Jetha). Mother's brother = Mama (Maternal Uncle). Wife's father = Father-in-law.
💡 Trick: Mother-side relations often carry 'Maternal' (Mama, Mami, Didima). Father-side = 'Paternal'.
3. Pointing Questions
'Pointing to a photo, Ravi said: She is my mother's only daughter.' Mother's only daughter = Ravi's sister (if Ravi is male, the photo is his sister — unless speaker is female, then it's herself). Always fix the speaker's gender from the name/context first.
📌 A woman says 'He is my father's only son's son' → father's only son = her brother → his son = her nephew.
