Coding-Decoding — Secret Language, Simple Rules
✨ IN SHORT — THE WHOLE LESSON IN 20 SECONDS
Coding questions hide letters that jumped forward, backward, or turned into numbers (A=1…Z=26). First ask: numbers or letters? Then find how far each letter moved.
1. Letter Positions (EJOTY trick)
Memorise anchors: E=5, J=10, O=15, T=20, Y=25. From anchors, neighbours are easy. Opposite letters add to 27: A↔Z, B↔Y, M↔N (13↔14).
📌 Opposite of D (4) is W (23). 4+23 = 27 always.
2. Forward/Backward Shifts
CAT → FDW: each letter +3. Apply the same shift to the new word. Shifts can grow: +1, +2, +3 (A→B, B→D, C→F). Always compare the FIRST letters to guess the rule.
💡 Trick: Write the alphabet in a line on rough paper in the exam. 10 seconds spent, every coding question safe.
3. Word & Number Codes
Some questions give sentence codes: 'tea is hot' = 'ka mi su'. The common word between two sentences reveals its code. Match commons first.
📌 'I am happy' = '1 2 3', 'I am sad' = '1 2 4' → happy=3, sad=4, I/am = 1/2.
